Print from Your Personal Device

You can send your print jobs from your personal device to be printed on printers in your Unit's Academic Center and in the Library using PrinterOn.

Remote Printing in Campus Residences 

Remote Printing from a Web Browser

Go to webprint.berkeley.edu
Click “Print” on the first page.
Type in your CalNet ID (this is NOT your ID number).

Step 1

Choose a Printer: Select “Rescomp” -> “rescomp printing” as your printer.

Step 2

Document Information: You can either print from your computer’s hard drive or from a webpage URL.

  • To print a document on your computer, click “Choose File” then select your file.

  • To print from a webpage, simply copy and paste the URL into “Web page” box. (Note: as a precaution, you should always copy and paste this URL into a different browser to check if the URL loads the page you want.)

Select the number of copies and pages you wish to print. These spaces can be left blank to use default settings (1 copy & full range).

Step 3

Select paper size, Duplex, and Orientation.

Job Submission: Wait for your print job to be approved. Click “Submit Job to Printer.” (Note: if you do not submit within 1 minute, the print job request will be aborted.

Pick up your print job at an Academic Center

Tap your Cal1Card on the black card reader next to the large Ricoh printer.

Tap “Print” when it shows this screen.

Tap “Exit” once done.

Print from the PrinterOn Mobile App

Step 1 - Install PrinterOn App: 
Go to the play store on your Android device (or Apple App Store if you have an Apple device) and search for PrinterOn. The app should look the screenshot below

Step 2 - Setup PrinterOn: 
When you first open the app, it should look like this:

Notice there is a button which says “No Printer Selected” at the bottom of the screen. Tap on this button, then swipe to the “search” tab. Here, search for “UC Berkeley”.

To print in the Academic Centers, select “UC Berkeley Campus - Rescomp Printing”. The PrinterOn home screen should now display Rescomp Printing as the selected printer.

How to use PrinterOn App:

To print a screenshot or picture from your phone’s gallery, select the “Photos” option. Otherwise, if you’d like to print a webpage, select the “Web” option and navigate to the desired webpage, then click the print symbol in the top right corner of the browser. For example, here we are about to print a screenshot of Google.

Click print to confirm the print job. This will bring up a “Print Options” screen. Here, enter your CalNet ID. Although it says “optional”, this step is not optional and will not work unless you enter your CalNet ID.

Once you confirm the print job, you should be able to see it in print history. The print job will take a minute to process. Once it is finished processing, it will show “Success”. You can now go to any Academic Center to pick up your print job
